Liverpool are such a great team right now and one can’t expect any less from the champions of Europe. They have continued playing really well in all matches, winning more and making sure to not lose so much. This will explain why they are top of the league in the Premier League and why they will be top of their group in the Champions League if they win their match against Napoli on Wednesday.

The Reds are currently top of the table in the Premier League with 37 points, eight points ahead of Leicester City in second, nine points ahead of Manchester City in third and 11 points ahead of Chelsea in fourth. They have been able to establish a comfortable lead.

Some of their matches have been won with late goals that helped them retain their unbeaten run in the Premier League – against Leicester City, Aston Villa, Sheffield United, Tottenham and Crystal Palace on Saturday – and this has made rival club fans claim that the club’s unbeaten run and current spot in the Premier League table is due to luck that has continued to favour them.

Liverpool’s captain, Jordan Henderson has, however, come out to speak on it as seen on Liverpool’s official website, claiming that the late goals are due to the players’ mentality and the win-win attitude.

“I’ve heard a lot in recent months about ‘luck’ playing a part in some of the wins we’ve managed this season.

“Of course, luck plays a part in football; it always has done and it always will. But my experiences have shown me that the more you put into something, the more you get out – and that’s the real story about our team at the moment.

“My personal view is it is the professionalism of this squad and the dedication to what we are looking to achieve that delivers the so-called luck.

“The other factor you need to have is bravery. You have to have courage in key moments. I spoke in the week about how important mentality is in football, how it’s just as crucial to a team as the collective and individual skills and ability of the players.

“If you look around our dressing room, we have a lot of leaders, a lot of big personalities and, overall, a group of great lads who have an incredible attitude towards the game, their work and how they live their lives outside of it.

“They all do everything they can to be at 100 percent for the next game – and they do what they can to push their teammates on alongside them.

“We’re entering a really busy period in our season now with so many games, so this is exactly the attitude we need within the dressing room.”

Conclusion

We have seen Liverpool play this season and one thing we can all agree on is that they are a ready team with the thirst for winning. They have continued to show that they are a team that puts their all into the game and giving it a fight till the end.
