The 2021/22 Premier League season proved a very tense one for the Champions Manchester City and Liverpool FC, who were both in a fierce battle for the title till the last day of the season. It was a repeat of the 2018/19 season, where Liverpool finished the season with just a point behind City. After solidly matching each other for most of the season, Liverpool needed just two points to clinch the title, which would have stopped City from winning the title for the second time in three seasons.
While the 2022/23 Premier League season was preceded by a very busy and exciting summer transfer window, hopes were high for all the clubs in the league; including Liverpool who signed Benfica’s top scorer of the previous season, Darwin Nunez. He was signed to fill in the gaps left by Sadio Mane who transferred to German side Bayern Munich. As the season started, it brought many opportunities for the fans to bet on their favorite teams using bonus codes on sites that offer free gambling, coupled with other amazing experiences.
Liverpool started the season poorly; winning only two of their first five matches of the season, while drawing against Fulham and Crystal Palace, and losing against Manchester United. After winning a few games, they went on to draw against Everton and Brighton and were dominated in a 3-1 loss to Arsenal. It would seem like Liverpool’s Premier League season has not begun properly, as they have not seemed to click among themselves, following the departure of Sadio Mane.
In the Champions League, on the other hand, Liverpool have been superb, winning 5 matches out of 6 to finish second on the table and qualify for the round of 16; a feat that would have seemed impossible for the side, following their poor form in the Premier League.
Currently in 8th position in the league, Liverpool are 15 points behind league leaders Arsenal, who had a flying start to the season, including beating Liverpool earlier in the season to maintain their fine form. With the 2022 World Cup upon us, the Premier League will be suspended for the duration of the event; giving the clubs a breather, as some of the players will be representing their various national teams.
The January transfer window after the World Cup will be a very important one for Liverpool, as they will look to solve various issues within the squad, and bring in players who can fill in the gaps in the team.
Liverpool will have a very huge feat before them after the World Cup and will only look to win matches, including the return fixtures against Manchester City and Arsenal. If they can find their form early and maintain it, then they can compete for the title and give Arsenal and City a good title race.
