Liverpool have been dealt with a blow as Joe Gomez will be out of the Champions League final. The England international has undergone an ankle operation from the injury he suffered on international duty.
Gomez had tried to play on through the injury in games against Stoke and West Bromwich Albion but it ultimately aggravated the injury. The youngster is also doubtful to feature at next months World Cup in Russia.
The youngsters injury adds to Jürgen Klopp’s headache over the amount of options he has in his team. The reds are without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joel Matip who suffered season ending injuries. Emre Can’s situation is unclear although the German is hoping to recover in time for the final in Kiev.

Sunday sees Liverpool in a game that determine their status in the Champions League next season. The reds must win if they are to compete in the UCL and Klopp is relishing the opportunity.

Jurgen Klopp is keen to add to his team in the summer transfer window with multiple names being linked to Liverpool.
The reds have been interested in Napoli midfielder Jorginho. Liverpool’s recruitment team have been monitoring the midfielder who has been in outstanding form this season in Serie A. Should the club progress with their interest in Jorginho, they should face serious contention with their Premier League rivals.
Another interesting name being linked to the club is Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir. The Frenchman has ‘reportedly’ agreed a contract with Liverpool according to French media outlets although nothing has been confirmed.
With the expected departure of Emre Can to Juventus in the summer, Klopp is expected to sign reinforcements to help booster their title ambitions next season.
Naby Keita will join the club in July following his transfer deal in August and you can expect there to be more additions in the transfer window.
