Champions League Preparation:
With just a week remaining till the biggest of the season, Liverpool’s Sadio Mane believes he’s approaching the peak of his career.
Sadio Mane: It’s why we’re always working hard in training to get better and better. I’m trying to do my best for the team and I’ll keep working hard to help.
It’s a dream come true to play in the final. It’s massive. It’s going to be a tough game, we all know that, but we can beat any team in the world.
Honestly when I was young my dream was to play in the Champions League. I watched a few finals. To have chance to play… I’m just going to enjoy it and get that trophy.”
The reds have also announced they have teamed up with ACC Liverpool to broadcast the Final in the city.
Fans have the opportunity to watch the game on giant screens at the new space screens near the Echo Arena.
Despite suffering an injury scare against Barcelona, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to be fully fit for the clash against Liverpool.
Zidane: “Cristiano is at 120%. He trained normally all week and he is ready (for Villarreal).”
Anfield Expansion:
Liverpool’s Chief Executive Peter Moore has spoken about potential plans to expand Anfield with the ability to host music concerts. The current capacity of Anfield is just over 54,000 with the addition of the Main Stand.
Moore: “We will continue to invest in Anfield. As a club we have to look at how we can better facilitate visits to make them even more special than they currently are.
Revenue is critically important, but so is the continued modernisation of Anfield. We will continue to look at the feasibility for any proposed Anfield Road expansion over the coming months and years.”
An expansion into the Anfield Road end of the stadium is likely to increase the capacity to over 60,000.
