Sadio Mane is reportedly preparing to inform Liverpool he intends to leave the club this summer, according to reports from Goal, while Bayern Munich is leading the race to sign the Senegal star. Following Liverpool’s loss against Real Madrid in Paris on 28 May, Diario AS reported star striker Sadio Mane had said his goodbyes to teammates and had his heart set on leaving. However, it is unlikely that Liverpool will take up any reduced offers from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

This offseason, star striker Sadio Mane will be deciding how he approaches his future: if it is moving on to a new club now, re-signing with Liverpool, or running out of time on his contract at Liverpool and leaving in 2023 on a free transfer. Nothing has been agreed on another club so far, and the striker has been waiting to decide his future since after the Champions League final.

Liverpool striker Sadio Mane is out of contract after one year, with Bayern Munich thought to lead the race for his signature, following reports that he had agreed on personal terms for a three-year contract. Sadio Mane did not, as promised, speak to the media following Liverpool’s 1-0 loss to Real Madrid in Paris on Saturday evening. Still, sources told GOAL that it is becoming increasingly likely he will be leaving Anfield, with Bayern being the leading candidate to sign him. Sadio Mane has been linked with Real Madrid’s Champions League bid, promising an announcement about his future soon, with reports suggesting he wants to leave Merseyside.

Sadio Mane has decided to leave Liverpool this summer following a scintillating six-season spell at Anfield, according to several reports from Britain, one day after Real Madrid defeated the Reds in the Champions League final. It was always expected that one of Liverpool’s superstars would be leaving Anfield this summer, both coming off contracts and the arrivals (and star turns) of Diogo Jota last season, then Luis Diaz this season.

The latest updates insist that Bayern Munich are preparing to open negotiations with Liverpool over the coming days, having received the ultimate OK from their chief transfer target. Bayern Munich will look to complete the transfer of Mane within the next few weeks in order for Mane to have his pre-season spent with them. The Athletic UK has firmly stated Bayern Munich is among their main transfer targets suitors; however, they have not decided on his destination.

Liverpool is expected to receive a move from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich but will need to fetch a higher price than the EUR30million (PS35m) being quoted to consider making a deal over Sadio Manes’s current contract. Paris Saint-Germain is also linked with Sadio Mane. Still, Kylian Mbappe’s contract extension and Leonardo Silvas’s likely departure as a sporting director mean that the club are unlikely to have the financial flexibility to make a deal.
